Solar Sails VR

Explore the player command ship from hit indie game "Solar Sails". Complete tasks and explore the environment as you fix your ship.

Process:

The processes I used from creating "Solar Sails VR" mainly consisted of emulating a adequate translation of the original "Solar Sails". For this, I consulted developers from the original game and referenced the original game where direct porting was not and option.

​

Creating the puzzles came with pulling inspiration from games with similar aesthetics such as "Among Us".

​

Creating the UI and UX was all about refining it and making it perfect. For the fade in, a completely black quad was placed in from of the main camera; this quad would begin black on load of a scene and become more transparent as the scene loads in. On a scene exit, the plane will begin to become black again.  For the wrist UI, the player's wrist has a script that tracks the position of the wrist and activates a canvas on the wrist when the Z axis faces a sphere collider which surrounds the area which emulates where the player's head would be.
